Dummy Reader is built with privacy as a core principle. Your documents are processed entirely in your browser—they never touch our servers. We believe your reading habits are your business, not ours.

Data Stored on Your Device

Dummy Reader uses your browser's IndexedDB to store data locally on your device. This includes:

• Uploaded book content and chapter structure
• Transformed text versions
• Generated audio files (MP3)
• Your transformation profile preferences

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly download it. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

External Services

To provide text transformation and voice synthesis, we send data to third-party APIs:

• Text Transformation — Your chapter text is sent to third-party AI providers for modernization/transformation
• Voice Synthesis — Transformed text is sent to third-party text-to-speech providers for audio generation

These services process your text to provide the service but do not retain it beyond the immediate request. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details on their data handling practices.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for essential functionality only:

• Color scheme preference — Remembers your light/dark mode choice

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics.

No User Accounts

Dummy Reader does not require registration or login. There are no user accounts, which means we don't collect names, emails, passwords, or any other personal information tied to your identity.
